Connecting Thin Black Lines 1985 – 2025
Bermudian writer and performer Andra Simons brings his book Turtlemen to the stage; an often raw and intimate telling, part myth, part truth, that wades ankle-deep into the legacies of ancestral grief and healing. Gossip Keepers: Turtlemen seeks to exploring the theatrical realm between knotted personal history and a subtropic islandscape, discovering the characters who dwell between the two; combining live performance and prerecorded video Andra aims to elevate and resuscitate lore in this singular event. There will be opportunity for the audience to ask Simons questions towards the end of the event.

Bio
Andra Simons is a Bermudian writer and performer living in London, UK. He studied theatre in Toronto, Canada. Andra’s first collection of poetry, The Joshua Tales (Treehouse Press) was published in 2009 and Turtlemen (Copy Press) recently published in 2021. Andra has held workshops and lectured at various universities in the UK. He has also been published in several magazines, journals and anthologies as well as performed at numerous events, venues and festivals. Andra was Writer-in-Residence 2022-2023 at the University of Greenwich. He also given an Honorable Mention for the Bermuda Literary Award’s Cecile N. Musson Prize for Poetry, 2023
