Everything seems perfect in the life of aspiring restaurateur, Ryosuke (Tôri Matsuzaka); his business is thriving and he is about to be married to his beautiful fiancée. Yet, his existence begins to unravel when his father is diagnosed with late-stage pancreatic cancer. While going through his father’s belongings, Ryosuke discovers a diary and within its pages he reads a seemingly incriminating entry: “Without remorse, I take a life...” Is the passage a fictional account or the biographical memoir of a murderer? His world upended, it seems like things can’t get much worse for Ryosuke – just then, his fiancée vanishes.

With a stellar cast, this devastating love story is an adaptation of Mahokaru Numata’s mystery novel, Nan-Core, which sold over 250,000 copies worldwide.
