From Academy Award and BAFTA-winning director Asif Kapadia (Amy, 2015, Senna, 2010), this immersive documentary portrait of monolithic football legend Maradona is constructed from over 500 hours of never-before-seen footage from Maradona’s personal archive. Compiling home videos, news footage and interviews, the film follows the triumphant early years of Maradona’s career in Naples and traces his equally epic decline as he succumbs to the trappings of fame and fortune.
