A person with an angular face and flowing hair stares off camera, looking exhausted or like they're having an epiphany, their face covered with gold glitter
After Blue (Dirty Paradise), dir. Bertrand Mandico, France 2021, 127 min., French with English subtitles, 18

Iconoclastic French director Bertrand Mandico follows his eccentric first film The Wild Boys, distributed by ICA CINEMA, with a truly wild ride. After Blue (Dirty Paradise) is a gender-fluid space odyssey set on a hallucinatory planet where only women remain…

In a faraway future, on a wild and untamed planet only inhabited by females, a lonely teenager named Roxy (Paula-Luna Breitenfelder) unknowingly releases a dangerous yet sensual assassin from her prison. Roxy and her mother Zora (Elina Löwensohn) are held accountable, banished from their community and forced to track down the killer – named, naturally, Kate Bush (Agata Buzek). Haunted by the spirits of her murdered friends, Roxy embarks on a long journey across the supernatural territories of this filthy paradise.
