Join artist Tegen Williams for a creative drawing class in response to Laura Lima: The Drawing Drawing.

Interacting with life models on moving platforms, you will explore different ways of responding to and looking at the body in this playful class that brings together movement, performance and drawing. The class disrupts traditional relationships between artist, subject, model and audience, taking a playfull and collaborative approach to life drawing.

The Drawing Drawing is the first London solo exhibition by Brazilian multidisciplinary artist Laura Lima (b. 1971, Minas Gerais). Marking a significant introduction of her work to UK audiences, the exhibition will unfold across the Upper and Lower Galleries in a series of installations involving sculpture, movement, live performers and public participation. At the heart of The Drawing Drawing will be a new interactive sculptural installation of the same name which reimagines the traditional framework of the life drawing class.

Since the mid-90s, Lima has become recognised for her subversive artworks which explore the relationship between bodies and their environment, questioning social expectations and accepted hierarchies by staging live situations where people, objects and spaces interact in unconventional ways.
Bios
Tegen Williams is a multidisciplinary artist and director working across film, photography, painting, collage, music and textiles. Their work intersects the viewpoint of a documentarian with the fictional injection of a shape shifting protagonist, weaving the real and surreal in to layered narratives that run like a current through their work. Williams is also the lead singer of the experimental band Memory of Speke.
