Between Two Worlds
Session 4: On Future Storytelling
Institute of Contemporary Arts
© Sinna Nasseri

For two decades, Emily Keegin has been a Photo Editor deeply invested in photography and the importance of visual storytelling in our chaotic media landscape. Working for publications including TIME, Bloomberg Businessweek and The Fader, she has blurred the boundaries between genres and created space for photography to be interpretive and elaborate, a powerful voice unto itself. While Emily still dabbles in commissioning, she has spent the last few years working as a writer and cultural critic, examining the ways in which photography informs who we are and how we live.

In this conversation Emily and Gem Fletcher discuss the future of visual storytelling and the role of the photographer in preserving history, challenging misinformation, and safeguarding the integrity of our shared narratives.
