Jan Jelinek, Hector Plimmer, Ben Bertrand +++
Institute of Contemporary Arts

Goodness present a forward-thinking, left-leaning jazz-electronic special. Featuring Jan Jelinek, Hector Plimmer, Ben Bertrand and more.

Jan Jelinek’s approach is all about the transformation of sound, about translating parameters of popular music into abstract, textural electronics. Bypassing the rules of traditional musicianship, he prefers to construct collages from tiny sound fragments, from the lost-and-found products of samplers, tape recorders, media players and other recording implements.

Hector Plimmer is a producer, drummer and DJ from South London. He has steadily built a career bridging scenes and sounds from beats to jazz, broken beat, house and techno, whilst at the same time honing a distinctive sound, balancing lovingly crafted low-end with precision engineered percussion and a knack for enticing melody and arrangements.

Ben Bertrand is a Belgian bass clarinetist and composer. With his instrument and countless machines, Ben creates his live sets with a hypnotic web of sounds, a fusion of diverse influences built around traditional and ancestral music, and even current electronic music.
