Join us to celebrate the UK launch of Rosanna McLaughlin’s Against Morality, the East Sussex-based writer’s incisive reassessment of the role of political values in contemporary art. McLaughlin will be in conversation with writer Dean Kissick.
Examining contemporary exhibitions as well as works of art and film, and the broader cultural reactions to them, McLaughlin investigates the consequences of a moralising approach to creative work. She invites us to ask whether a relationship between art and politics should exist at all. In arguing against morality in the arts, McLaughlin lays the groundwork for a more expansive concept of difference in twenty-first century art making. We hope you will join us for a lively conversation.
