Un andantino
Institute of Contemporary Arts
Un andantino, dir. Alejo Moguillansky, Argentina 2023, Spanish with English subtitles, 65 min

Book tickets

With the andantino from Schubert's Sonata in A Major as its golden thread, Alejo Moguillansky, his daughter Cleo and actress María Villar return to an unfinished scene from their film The Little Match Girl, six years later. The result is a beautiful accompaniment and expansion of their previous film and a playful exploration of the inevitable passage of time.

Both an inspiring intertextual analysis of Schubert's music and a celebtation of its realisation by pianist Margarita Fernández, Un andantino like its namesake is a film of infinite recurrences and mirages.
