In her haunting and eagerly-awaited follow-up to Ste. Anne, Manitoban filmmaker Rhayne Vermette returns with an oneiric portrait of a community unsettled by a mysterious blackout. Filmed on broken Bolex cameras and developed from a script of loose poetry, Levers traces a series of oneiric encounters following the unveiling of a new sculpture. The Red River Valley becomes the backdrop for a slow unraveling of time and place, unfolding in poetic fragments and layering Indigenous, Catholic, and esoteric imagery into a meditation on mortality and transformation.

The UK Premiere screening on Friday 24 October will be followed by an online Q&A with Rhayne Vermette.
