London Latino Film Festival 2026

Elisa lives with her mother, Nélida, in a housing development located in a city that seems to exist out of time. The most illustrious youths are sent to the North, a sort of promised land where “history is being rewritten". Elisa is the last young woman in her community and part of the group embarked in the induction process prior to going to the North. The lethargic passing of the days is only altered by the presence of a new neighbour, Leonor, who catches Elisa’s and the rest of the residents’ attention. Leonor is an intriguing woman who works as a nurse and has a prosthetic leg. She is interested in Elisa from the moment the two of them meet. 

Leonor will make Elisa discover that her smell is a treasure many are willing to pay for. The induction process is very thorough, as it is important to study the participants’ personality and skills in depth. But Elisa thinks that there is something that does not quite add up. The North’s relentless quest for productivity, rigorousness and perfection gives Elisa reason for doubt. Nélida finds out her daughter is not taking part in the induction process. Agents from the North pressure Elisa and are willing to take her away even if she does not finish her induction; her rebelliousness seems to make her even more attractive to them. There seems to be no way out for Elisa.
