Inspired by true events, this story intertwines a crime thriller with a migrant drama. In 2010, Chinese mafias arrived in the city of Mendoza, which became the hidden stage of a silent war between two factions fighting for control of organised crime, operating in the shadows of a migrant community marked by silence, fear, and cultural distance.

While Chinese community shopkeepers are extorted and women brought from China under false promises are forced into prostitution, the small family restaurant of the Dagengs unknowingly becomes the epicentre of this struggle. An anonymous complaint linked to the restaurant also sparks a judicial investigation that sets in motion the dismantling of the network through wiretaps. Prosecutor Diana Belenguer, determined to confront these criminal organisations, leads an unprecedented investigation in the country. With the help of Li, a Chinese-born police officer who translates wiretaps in Cantonese dialect, they begin to uncover the inner workings of the mafia, its codes, and its invisible hierarchies.

The intercepted conversations not only expose the crimes but also reveal a family conflict within one of the mafias, marked by the tension between two brothers. Xu, a soldier of one of the organisations, decides to defy his clan and free a young victim known as La Pujianesa. That decision makes him a target of his own comrades, especially of Kwan, his older brother and a leader within the organisation, now tasked with killing him. As Xu and the young woman run for their lives, Prosecutor Belenguer and Officer Li delve into a criminal network far more extensive and complex than they had ever imagined.
