What Marielle Knows
Institute of Contemporary Arts
What Marielle Knows, dir. Frédéric Hambalek, Germany 2025, 84 min., German, French with English subtitles

Book tickets

A middle-class husband and wife seemingly have it all until their lives are upended by their tween daughter. Marielle develops telepathic powers and for reasons unknown (and delightfully never explained) can see and hear everything her parents do. It’s a deliciously funny film that explores the politics of marriage, the notion of unconditional parental love, and lies we tell each other and even ourselves.
