Filmed over seven years, director-cinematographer Brittany Shyne’s striking monochrome film follows generations of Black farmers as they navigate systemic challenges, including discriminatory government subsidies that favour their white neighbours. More than a story of hardship, it’s an immersive portrait of their lives and spiritual heritage. A deeply resonant film, it offers a timely exploration of land, racial justice and extractive capitalism.

This screening will be presented with Descriptive Subtitles.
