A small crew of Brazilian archivists are tasked with preserving Earth’s final living remnants and their digital copies in preparation for the planet’s extinction, while a solitary figure wanders its desolate landscape. Elliptically structured, yet meticulously composed, Pirondi’s grainy Super 16mm images lend a tactile immediacy to this speculative world, imagining the future through the material textures of the present.
