We follow novice horticulturalist Pierre-Joseph as he navigates his daily work outdoors, punctuated by a series of sexual encounters. The film’s deliberately anti-dramatic naturalism – roles are played by non-actors – is reframed by the beautifully composed polyphonic voiceovers. Merging diary, autobiography and fiction, with echoes of writer George Bataille, Creton creates an ethnobotanical film that radiates with the joy of the untamed.
