Cyborg: A Documentary + panel discussion
Institute of Contemporary Arts
Cyborg: A Documentary, dir. Carey Born, UK 2023, 87 min., English, 12A

Colour-blind artist Neil Harbisson is the world’s first formally recognised cyborg. He has an antenna implanted in his head that allows him to ‘hear’ colour. Now Neil is on a mission to convince the world to follow him and adopt his credo: Design Yourself.

Carey Born’s engaging documentary follows Neil and collaborator Moon Ribas as they confront their detractors head on, communicating their controversial ideas about the technological future of humankind.

The screening is followed by a panel discussion with director Carey Born and augmentation designer Dani Clode, hosted by science writer and journalist Manjit Kumar.
