A fascinating, expansive documentary that attempts to read between the lines of nonagenarian sculptor and multimedia artist Louise Bourgeois' own words in order to get at the heart of her beautiful, bold and often mysterious work. The film is a compendium of material and sources, drawing from interviews by the directors with Bourgeois, archive footage of the artist, interviews with admirers and commentators, and intimate filmed explorations of the sculptures and installations themselves.
