This panel will be moderated by film critic Wendy Ide (The Observer, Screen) joined by film directors Omar A Razzak (The Calm Tempest) and Jorge Thielen Armand (The Solitude), Dr Denise deCaires Narain (Senior Lecturer in English, University of Sussex & CHASE Director) and Eloise King (Women on Docs).
This final panel discussion brings together filmmakers, experts and academics to talk about the festival’s central themes, looking at the ethics of representing of labour on film, as well as the importance of considering the infrastructures of the working bodies that support the process of filmmaking itself. A particular focus is the creative and affective methodologies of documentary cinema, which may include elements of storytelling, fiction, and sensual stimulation.
