This Oscar-winning documentary showcases one of the most famous boxing events of the 20th century – the heavyweight fight between champion George Foreman and Muhammad Ali. The fight known as the ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ took place on the 30th October 1974 in Zaire.

Director Leon Gast shot more than 250 hours of footage of events surrounding the fight, but it took him 22 years to edit and finance the film. As the match had a political and cultural impact, the documentary also explores a variety of issues that defined the 1970s and impacted the African-American community.
