In this age of powerful low-cost computer technology, digital visual effects are no longer the exclusive preserve of Hollywood blockbusters. But incorporating effects into a small budget production requires experience and careful planning if expensive mistakes are to be avoided, and new technologies are frequently expanding the creative possibilities.
