Latin America Monthly

15 Dec 2017

Latin America Monthly (LAM) features a selection of films from Latin America's prolific arts scene, reflecting the resurgent methodologies of a Latin American cinema grounded in radical experimentation, and the exploration of form, the boundaries of imagination, and political militancy.

Over the course of the series LAM will introduce a wide array of cinema from Latin American countries, by established directors, new directors and directors forging independent paths. These are works that highlight the narrative possibilities of the continent while also offering a gaze on the political and socially progressive movements of the region.

While presenting extraordinary new releases from Latin America that might not otherwise reach audiences through traditional channels of film distribution, this new curatorial space will open possibilities for critical engagement around the themes addressed within the films. Independent Latin American filmmakers will also be in conversation to share their works and practices.

Latin America Monthly is curated by ICA Cinema and Maria Delgado, Director of Research at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, University of London
