LSFF 2017

London Short Film Festival 2017

6 Jan 201715 Jan 2017

LSFF returns once more to the ICA, for ten days of groundbreaking new documentary, experimental and fictional short films, as well as special events. London Short Film Festival Artistic Director Philip Ilson introduces the festival:

The festival this year takes a nostalgic look back at subcultures and youth culture while, as ever, championing new and emerging UK talent. The festival opens with a music and visual extravaganza in collaboration with the Moog Sound Lab UK, Savages and Analogue Recurring. Other festival highlights include a look back at the riot grrrl movement, a showcase of the work of actress Jessica Barden, and a live crossover event looking at the intersection between music and film.

There’s also adaptations of the late American short story writer Raymond Carver, a retrospective of groundbreaking LGBT filmmaker Annette Kennerly, and LSFF's Young Programmer scheme investigates silent cinema and its associations with the deaf community.

LSFF is also lauching new initiative With Teeth, a long-term short film commissioning fund which we intend will become a solid support base for the most exciting emerging cinematic voices, supported by Arts Council England. We will premiere this new work at the festival from directors Grace LaDoja, Alex Z. Taylor and Alnoor Dewshi.
