Previously at the ICA - Films
26 Jan 2018 – 3 Feb 2018
The final preview screening of Loveless on Saturday 3 February is introduced by director Andrey Zvyagintsev
After presenting his first ever complete UK retrospective in 2015, the ICA welcomes back influential Russian filmmaker Andrey Zvyagintsev with his latest work Loveless.
Focusing one more time on the allegorical and existential dimensions of his work, Zvyagintsev (The Return, Elena, Leviathan) takes another devastating look at the soul of contemporary Russia. Boris and Zhenya are so absorbed in their own enmity and pending divorce, they fail to notice when their unhappy child goes missing.
Loveless is an haunting cinematic experience accompanied by a pounding and unsettling sound design. Winner of the Jury Prize at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival.
