Nick Abrahams was recently nominated for the British Council Best Short Film of the year for his film Ekki Mukk (winner of Best Short Film at the London Short Film Festival 2013) starring Aidan Gillen (The Wire/Game of Thrones) and the voice of legendary folk singer Shirley Collins, who plays a lonely snail, which will be screening as part of this program of his films. The program also covers Abrahams seminal work in pop videos, featuring some of the more interesting bands of the 1990s, from original Riot Grrrls Huggy Bear through work with post rockers Stereolab, to current collaborations with Sigur Ros, as well as regular collaborations with Turner Prize winner Jeremy Deller. Excerpts from his work are interspersed with a discussion between Abrahams and David Gryn, curator of Artprojx, who recently selected and screened Ekki Mukk at Art Basel Miami Beach. The screening is followed by DJs in the Café Bar.
