Fritz Lang’s last film sees him return to Germany for a continuation of his earlier classics Dr Mabuse the Gambler (1922) and The Testament of Dr Mabuse (1933). Set in 1960, the film begins with a series of murders that resemble the work of Dr Mabuse. Police detective Gert Frobe assembles an unlikely team to help him solve these murder mysteries.
