LSFF: The Slope – Superficial, Homophobic Lesbians

18 Jan 2015

The Slope is a web series comedy that first aired online in 2012, following the lives of a lesbian couple navigating their way through modern-day Park Slope, Brooklyn. One year into their relationship, Ingrid and Desiree continue to hash out a power dynamic that ends up making them look homophobic, superficial and ultimately, perfect for one another. Josephine Wiggs (The Breeders, Dusty Trails) provides the soundtrack.

Iranian-American filmmaker and Slope co-creator Desiree Akhavan has also appeared in Lena Durham’s Girls. Her debut feature Appropriate Behaviour will be released by Peccadillo Pictures in February.

Slope co-creator and NYU graduate Ingrid Jungermann was one of Filmmaker Magazine’s 25 Faces of Independent Film, Out Magazine's 100 People of the Year in 2012 and Go Magazine's 100 Women We Love in 2014.

The ICA Cinema is now completely ad-free. Please note the feature will start following a selection of trailers and information relevant to the ICA programme. All films are 18+ unless otherwise stated.
