LSFF: The Errorists present The Ascendant Accumulation of Realism

10 Jan 2015

The Errorists (Andreas Köhler, cello, and Hilary Koob-Sassen, vocals and video) will show several films from their philosophical pop song ouvre and perform the audiovisual storyboard of a new film: The Ascendant Accumulation Of Realism. This performance will be followed by a conversation with Koob-Sassen and Booker Prize-nominated novelist Tom McCarthy (Remainder, Men In Space, C).

Hilary Koob-Sassen works with and across text, song, sculpture, film, animation and performance. His work is exhibited at film festivals and galleries internationally from Transmediale Festival Berlin to the Serpentine. His latest Flamin funded film Transcalar Investment Vehicles, soundtracked by The Errorists, won the EMAF Award and had its UK premiere at the 2014 BFI London Film Festival. The film will screen at the BFI Southbank on Wednesday 14 January.

Andreas Köhler studied Cello and Piano at the Musikhochschule Karlsruhe and Musikhochschule Basel. He has played numerous concerts both in Europe and abroad with the SWR Orchestra Baden-Baden Freiburg, and as a producer has composed and released recordings ranging from symphonies to dance tracks.

The Errorists make experimental audiovisual excursions into sculptural models of culture in time. Their philosophical pop song errors populate temporary visions of what could be. They have performed widely at venues and festivals including BFI Southbank, South London Gallery, Sketch Gallery and Steiricher Herbst Festival. The films built upon their soundtracks have screened at the Athens Biennale, Serpentine Gallery, Taipei Digital Arts Centre, Beijing Film Academy and Tate Britain amongst others.

The ICA Cinema is now completely ad-free. Please note the feature will start following a selection of trailers and information relevant to the ICA programme. All films are 18+ unless otherwise stated.
