French philosopher Jacques Rancière has proved deeply influential for a generation of moving image artists, film-makers, theorists and critics. As his new book, The Emancipated Spectator, is published by Verso this month, Rancière visits the ICA. He will be joined by Kodwo Eshun of the Otolith Group and, prompted by film sequences, they will explore the legacies and potentials of documentary practice.
