Iggyfest: Album covers Talk

23 Nov 2013

Join renowned record sleeve designer Vaughan Oliver and journalist Sophie Heawood as they discuss the design of Iggy Pop’s album covers.

Vaughan Oliver is one of the UK’s most original and admired designers. He is perhaps best known for his work with graphic design studios 23 Envelope and v23, both of which formed a close relationship with record label 4AD. From that sprang distinct visual identities for the likes of Bush, Cocteau Twins, Dead Can Dance, The Breeders, This Mortal Soul, Pale Saints, Lush, Pixies and Throwing Muses. Oliver’s career has also spanned work in film – including some collaborations with director David Lynch – and in fashion, dance and fine art.

Sophie Heawood writes for the Independent, Guardian, Times, Vice and Grazia.
