A Gentle Creature

A Gentle Creature

13 Apr 201819 Apr 2018

Inspired by Fyodor Dostoevsky’s short story, director Sergei Loznitsa takes us into a lawless Russia where crime is often unpunished.

A woman lives alone on the outskirts of a Russian village. One day she receives a parcel she sent to her incarcerated husband, marked 'return to sender'. She decides to travel to Siberia in search of answers. Met by violence, corruption and humiliation, this 'gentle creature' pursues a quest for justice. A powerful and hugely ambitious state-of-the-nation fable.
