Previously at the ICA - Events
6 Jun 2009
The early part of this millennium has indulged itself in nostalgia no end. DANCESCHOOL revisits disco, 90s hip-hop, UK garage, Balearic tropicalia, Italo, R&B, soul and more. Curated by multiple promoters DANCESCHOOL > lesson 1 asks you both to dance and recall dance moves past, and features an ever-evolving salon where you get to discuss, debate and draw your own personal highs and lows in the wonderful world that has been UK nightlife to date. We end the evening with bass purveyors Rinse FM throwing shapes that look like what the future could possibly hold: wonky, dubstep et al.
This event will be the only point in the year during which the entire ICA building is turned into a nightclub with a focus on well-selected music and good times, backed with the cultural commentary expected from a place of such repute.
