Conceptual artist and writer Victor Burgin is in conversation with curator David Campany, discussing the work of this influential artist and renowned theorist of the still and moving image. The pair recently worked together in the presentation of Victor Burgin: A Sense of Place, AmbikaP3, 2013, co-curated by Campany with Michael Maziere.

Victor Burgin (b.1941, UK) lives and works in the South-West of France and Paris. A retrospective exhibition of his work may be seen at the Museum für Gegenwartskunst, Siegen until mid-June, and includes a new projection work commissioned by the museum. His next large exhibition will be at the Galleria Lia Rumma, Milan, in the Autumn of 2014.

David Campany is a writer, curator and artist, and Reader in Photography at the University of Westminster. Writing mainly about photography, art and cinema, his books include Art and Photography (Phaidon 2003), Photography and Cinema (2008), Jeff Wall: Picture for Women (2010), Gasoline (2013) and Walker Evans: the magazine work (2014). Recent curatorial projects include Mark Neville, Deeds Not Words (The Photographers’ Gallery London, 2013) and Anonymes: Unnamed America in Photography and Film (Le Bal Paris, 2010).
