Patrick Keiller’s seminal film chronicles a year in the life of the capital through the eyes of the director’s imaginary protagonist Robinson and an unseen narrator, voiced by Paul Scofield. The film reflects on London’s diverse histories and an illuminating record of 1992, the year of John Major's re-election, IRA bombs, the first crack in the House of Windsor and the 'Black Wednesday' European monetary crisis.
