This screening will be followed by a Q&A with the film’s directors Joseph Bull and Luke Seomore and cinematographer David Procter.
The first ever British film to receive the Venice Biennale’s funding and one of only two British films selected for the 2014 Venice Film Festival, Blood Cells tells the story of Adam, who has lived a rootless existence since his family’s farm was destroyed. When his younger brother reaches out to him to announce the birth of his first child, there is an ultimatum attached: come home now, or never come home again.
As Adam embarks on an journey home, full of unexpected encounters with strangers, revelations from his hidden past build slowly towards a powerful climax.
Blood Cells, dir. Joseph Bull, Luke Seomore, UK/Italy 2015, 86 mins.
