Lisa Gunning began her career in the late 1990s, editing commercials at the established post-production company the Whitehouse. In 1998 she worked on a Comic Relief short with director Anthony Minghella, followed by Play as part of the Samuel Beckett season for Channel 4, which marked the beginning of a long running collaboration.
Her first feature was Minghella’s Breaking & Entering followed by his flagship pilot for The No.1 Ladies Detective Agency. As well as working with John Madden on his 2008 crime thriller Killshot, Gunning has also collaborated extensively with artist and filmmaker Sam Taylor-Wood on her BAFTA Award winning short film Love You More and her first feature film Nowhere Boy, which received numerous BAFTA and BIFA nominations. She went on to cut Salmon Fishing in the Yemen for Lasse Hallstrolm and has recently completed Seven Psychopaths for Martin McDonagh.
