One of Britain’s brightest cinematography stars and BAFTA nominee discusses his diverse career. From his early short films including Duane Hopkins, Film4 short Love Me or Leave Me Alone and Daniel Elliot’s BAFTA nominated Jade to his first feature film Ballast (which won him an Excellence in Cinematography award at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival), Crawley has developed a unique signature which fuses a realist aesthetic with artful composition and shooting style. Features include Hopkins’ Better Things and Chris Morris’ Four Lions as well as sumptuous big budget BBC costume drama and BAFTA nominated The Crimson Petal and The White. He joins us with two features on the horizon: director Roger Michell’s (Venus, Notting Hill) latest - Hyde Park on Hudson starring Bill Murray, and the Nelson Mandela biopic The Long Walk to Freedom directed by Justin Chadwick.
