David Katznelson is a cinematography graduate of The National Film & Television School in the UK. Prior to studying, he worked in the Danish film industry in Copenhagen where he grew up. He recently received an EMMY Award and an RTS award for his work on the TV-series Downton Abbey. He won the BAFTA Best Cinematography Award for the TV film Shoot the Messenger.
David has worked on many film and TV projects over the last 12 years. His credits include, In Fear, a feature film for Film Four currently in post production; Driving Lessons, a feature film with Laura Linney, Julie Walters and Rupert Grint; the award winning Danish feature film Hold Me Tight; the MySpace feature film Faintheart with Eddie Marsan and the TV film The Night Watch, for which he was nominated for best cinematography award by the British Society of Cinematographers.
David is currently in production on a half hour film starring Emma Thompson and Eddie Marsan for Sky Arts. David has shot a number of commercials and award winning short films. He has carried out second unit work with a variety of directors, among them, Kevin Macdonald, Shekhar Kapur and Paul King.
