Artists' Film Club: Duncan Campbell

28 Sep 2011

Artists' Film Club is proud to present an evening with Irish-born artist Duncan Campbell. His films are interested in the seductive power of stories. With a nod to Samuel Beckett's humour, his work juxtaposes the inherent promise of storytelling with the breakdown of narrative and the inevitable disintegration of meaning.

Duncan Campbell is an artist based in Glasgow, UK. His work has been exhibited previously as part of the ICA Nought to Sixty programme, as well as solo exhibitions at Artist Space, New York; Tramway, Glasgow; Kunstverein Munich, Munich; Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, Edinburgh and MUMOK, Vienna. Forthcoming exhibitions include solo presentations at HOTEL, London, and Belfast Exposed, Belfast.

Tate curator Stuart Comer will introduce Campbell’s work followed by a screening of Falls Burns, Malone Fiddles and Bernadette.

Please note
Due to family matters Duncan Campbell is no longer able to attend this Artists' Film Club. In his absence writer and editor Melissa Gronlund will be in conversation with Stuart Comer.
