Artists' Film Biennial 2014: Curators’ Seminar Group

This two-day Curators’ Seminar Group provides the opportunity for up to thirty UK-based curators to participate in two dynamic morning sessions led by Curator Paul Pieroni, with guest speakers Vivian Ziherl (If I Can’t Dance, I Don’t Want to Be Part Of Your Revolution, Amsterdam) and Łukasz Mojsak (Museum of Modern Art, Warsaw). Consisting of a series of presentations and discussions, curators Paul Perioni, Vivian Viherl and Łukasz Mojsak will share their experience and expertise in working with Moving Image and event based practices.

The Seminar Group is open to those out of education, as well as graduate and post-graduate students (£30 Student offer available).

Paul Pieroni is Exhibitions Curator at SPACE, London, where he runs an acclaimed programme of exhibitions and events. In recent years SPACE has presented UK debut solo exhibitions by Aleksandra Domanović, Marlie Mul and Max Brand as well as survey projects exploring the work of Jo Spence, Raymond Pettibon, Bernadette Corporation and Paul McCarthy. Pieroni is a regular visiting lecturer at Goldsmiths and The Royal College of Art and writes for a number of publications, including frieze and Art Review.

Łukasz Mojsak is an art historian, linguist, and team member of Filmoteka Muzeum of the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw dealing with research and propagation of artists’ moving image. Curator of the Museum project Propaganda Projector at the music festival Heineken Opener 2013 in Gdynia, Poland, and Wojciech Bąkowski Profile screening at Internationale Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen in 2014, among others. Translator of books and texts on art, philosophy and culture, including the Polish edition of Deschooling Society by Ivan Illich, 2010, among many others.

Vivian Ziherl is Curator at If I Can’t Dance, I Don’t Want to Be Part Of Your Revolution, Amsterdam. Recent projects include Landings (with Natasha Ginwala) at Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art, Rotterdam, and partner organisations including Rietveld Academie Studium Generale, Rotterdam; Tropenmuseum, Amsterdam; Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam; Campo Adentro, Madrid; David Roberts Art Foundation, London, among others and StageIt! Part 1 & 2 (with Hendrik Folkerts) at the Stedelijk Museum, 2012/13. She was the editor of The Lip Anthology and was the founding contributing editor of Discipline Magazine. Her writing has appeared in periodicals including Friezee-flux JournalWitte de With Review, Pages MagazineLEAP MagazineMetropolis MEyeline and the Journal of Art (Art Association of Australia and New Zealand).
