Gigi Masin is a pioneer of the Italian generation of radio DJs on FM radio stations and of the 'ambient' and electronic music scene. He is considered a forerunner of "turntablism" in using turntables to performing with vinyls, mixers, live electronics and tape-loops on stage. A master of the sublime, Masin’s own work has been sampled by the likes of Bjork and To Rococco Rot and his albums attract feverish acclaim. His next LP release is planned in April with the trio Guassian Curve (with Young Marco and Johnny Nash) on the label 'Music from Memory'.
Gruff Rhys will be playing his recently released soundtrack to the film Set Fire To The Stars on a short one-of-a-kind tour this January. He will be joined by Y Niwl members Alun Tan Lan, Gruff Ab Arwel and Siôn Glyn, Kliph Scurlock and walking brass section, and Gavin Fitzjohn. Film director Dylan Goch will re-imagine and remix the movie as they play, and DJ's from Finders Keepers records will also be on hand for a most memorable musical happening. There will also be a screening of the film, which stars Elijah Wood and Celyn Jones, before the show.
