ICA is pleased to present this pair of limited edition prints created by Sophie Von Hellermann exclusively for the ICA.

Von Hellermann is known for her large-scale pastel washed canvases, which often draw upon a combination of current affairs, classical mythology, literature, and imaginary landscapes.

Von Hellermann’s unique monoprints bear the two images traditionally depicted on a fifty pence coin; the head of the Queen Elizabeth and on the reverse, the image of Brittania, the Boadicea- like female warrior that is a traditional emblem for Britain and the British Empire. The work is available in an edition of 50, or 25 per motif.

Sophie Von Hellermann (born in 1975 in Munich, Germany) graduated from the Royal College of Art, London, in 2001. She now lives and works in London. Recent exhibitions include: After a Fashion- A Play with Fire, Vilma Gold, London (2015), and Elephant in the room, Firstsite, Colchester, Essex UK (2013).
