ICA is pleased to present this limited edition print by Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2010 Selector Gabriel Kuri; co-published by ICA and New Contemporaries, on the occasion of Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2010 at the ICA (26 November 2010 - 23 January 2011).
Gabriel Kuri is known for using ubiquitous found materials such as receipts, soda cans, plastic bags and newspapers to highlight contemporary consumer culture and the circulation of information and commodities.
Gabriel Kuri (Born in Mexico in 1970) lives and works in Mexico City, Mexico and Brussels, Belgium. Major solo shows include Kunstverein Bielefeld, Germany (2010), Blaffer Gallery, Houston University Museum, Houston, Texas (2010), Kunstverein Freiburg, Frieburg, Germany (2010) and Museion, Museo d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea, Bolzano, Italy (2010). He has also contributed to numerous international group shows, including the 5th Berlin Biennial (2008), Brave New Worlds, Colección Jumex, Ecatepec, Mexico (2008) and Walker Art Center, Minneapolis (2007); and Unmonumental, New Museum, New York (2007).
The artist is represented by Sadie Coles HQ, London; Esther Schipper Gallery, Berlin; Kurimanzutto, Mexico City; and Franco Noero, Turin.
