Second deals with memory, cinema and the photographic image in the setting of a single location, featured in the 1975 Michelangelo Antonioni film, The Passenger. The film uses this location as a host for an idea, which we then pass through, moving between personal and cinematic memories.
Matthew Burdis is an artist-filmmaker, working in moving image, photography and sculpture. He received the Mahler & LeWitt Studios Residency Award in 2016, in which he worked with sculptor James Capper on a collaborative project in Spoleto, Italy. He is currently working on a 16mm film project with Jon Baker, supported by the Elephant Trust.
