Animation workshop at The Link, Thamesmead

Eye Want Change and the ICA host an afternoon of animation films and a practical animation workshop. Eye Want Change will guide you through the basics of making 2D and 3D stop motion animations on your phone, with inspiration from a selected screening of short animations made by young filmmakers for Random Acts.

This workshop is suitable for first-time filmmakers and animators and aimed at 11-16 year olds. Please bring your phone along with you!

Ink, Paper & Plasticine: an introduction to the basics of animation
Saturday 9 September, 2 – 5pm

Interested in animation? Try your hand at animating with coloured inks, paper cut-outs and plasticine. All you need to bring is a smartphone with working camera or compact digital camera and enthusiasm to give it a go!

This is a free workshop suitable for 9-16 year olds by Calling the Shots. Places are limited and so booking is essential.

Filmmaking: where do I start? 
Wednesday 20 September, 4 – 7pm

A free workshop suitable for 16 - 24 year olds 

Inspired by the short films in Playback? Join us as we get creative and explore your ideas for making a short film. We’ll watch and critique some inspiring shorts, offer insider tips on what makes a good story and how you can get your films made. No experience needed and all ideas and genres of film are welcome!
