Park McArthur and Constantina Zavitsanos: Other Forms of Conviviality
What if we refuse the convivial forms of care that deal in contracts of exchange? What if we approach care as an event?
Park McArthur and Constantina Zavitsanos’s vital 2013 text seems all the more urgent at this time, as divergent conceptions of care and dependency are exposed on a grand scale. McArthur and Zavitsanos are part of a New York-based group of artists and activists who have initiated Crip Fund to pool money for chronically ill, disabled, and immunocompromised people currently in serious financial need.

Noam Chomsky on the Coronavirus
In times like this one, it’s vital to strive to identify trusted sources. One of these is undoubtedly Noam Chomsky:
Trump is a sociopath buffoon and the idea that our fate is also in his hands is shocking ... This Coronavirus crisis is a colossal market failure which goes right back to the essence of markets exacerbated by a savage neoliberal intensification of deep socio-economic problems and the collapse of institutional structures.

Listen

Invisibilia: The End of Empathy
After days of watching park walkers side-eye joggers, who side-eye bike riders side-eyeing mask-wearers... this is an interesting listen in relation to judgement, empathy and the new phenomenon of quarantine-shaming. A meta-commentary on how two reporters can interpret the same subject in vastly different ways.

Zebra Katz: Less is Moor
Artist Zebra Katz released his debut album Less is Moor just under two weeks ago. The production is filled with noise and industrial cuts, ranging from emotive singing to fast-paced flow over distorted bass. I recommend listening to it in one session.

Tina Turner: Namu Myōhō Renge Kyō
Listen to Tina Turner practicing a two-hour Shōdai.

Danh Vo, Uzusumizakura, March 2020. ‘In one end, the Japanese invented the art of the bonsai, in the other end, they crafted, in 1948, 238 virgin roots in this 1500-year-old cherry tree to extend its life.’ – Danh Vo
