Running from 2 – 6 December, the artist-run pop up shop XTRADE stocks artworks, fashion, vinyl and books to raise money for charity and support independent makers.

In this podcast collaboration between the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art and the Wellcome Collection, multidisciplinary artist Nwando Ebizie explores care and healing through the lens of art, health and science. The first episode in the five-part series features Bárbara Rodríguez Muñoz and Ted Kerr discussing Kerr’s work as part of the collective What Would an HIV Doula Do? and Johanna Hedva reading from their new book Minerva the Miscarriage of the Brain.

A rare find, in which the French/Swiss director recites passages from Hannah Arendt’s essay ‘On the Nature of Totalitarianism’ taken from the 1997 movie We’re Still Here (Nous sommes tous encore ici) by Godard’s long-term creative and romantic partner Anne-Marie Miéville. ‘The risk in solitude is always of losing oneself. It could be said that this is a professional risk for the philosopher. Since he seeks out truth and preoccupies himself with questions, which we describe as metaphysical but which are indeed the only questions to preoccupy everyone.’

In this short 15-minute documentary, French experimental composer Éliane Radigue discusses her work and use of tape and modular synths. You can also read this recent Purple magazine interview about her compositions and soundscapes. I’m currently listening to the reissue of Triptych early in the morning and late at night.

‘The film’s process was a long one. We were working with a very small team in Patrícia’s house, where she and her family welcomed us with enormous generosity. The film was born out of an exchange of experiences, personal documents, photographs, drawings and texts. The scenes were created collectively and the character Raposa is a fusion of those common experiences.’

Raposa is part of FRAMES of REPRESENTATION 2020 and is available to stream for seven days from 5 December, 6pm GMT.
