When We Were Wild + Q&A
Institute of Contemporary Arts

When We Were Wild (Una vez fuimos salvajes), dir. Carmen Bellas, Spain 2016, 61 min., Spanish with English subtitles

Spanish director Carmen Bellas’ debut feature is an imagined conversation between the film’s narrator and the neighbourhood of San Cristóbal on the outskirts of Madrid. This unique, evocative depiction of a place progressively abandons a classic documentary structure to become a first-person essay.
