Ten Dark Women (Kuroi juunin no onna), dir. Kon Ichikawa, Japan 1961, 103 min., Japanese with English subtitles, Cert. 15

A group of women seek revenge against a philandering man in this dark comedy directed and written by married couple Ichikawa Kon and Natsuto Wada.

Kaze is a married TV producer with nine mistresses. Deeply frustrated by his indecisiveness and inability to commit, the women eventually get together and forge a plan to kill him. However, each of his mistresses secretly intends to save Kaze, thus ensuring she becomes the only woman in his life. Needless to say, when the time comes for the actual murder, things get complicated.
