Junior XL’s sound presses to exist outside of imagery, time and language. The music combines traditions of live instrumentation with the functionality of dance music to create something that moves the body but feels like a song. He also composes for artists and dancers including Adham Faramawy, Jamila Johnson-Small and Gery Georgieva.

This online exhibition and digital book will explore the concept of Queer as performance/presentation in the context of social isolation, when conventional means of queer congregation have been radically transformed. The project is curated by Sam Moreno Alamein and the deadline for submissions is 5 June.

London performance festival Block Universe continues its virtual edition at 9pm BST tonight with a meditative gathering hosted by artists Rowdy SS and Ekin Bernay, who both work with dance and movement. The pair have invited a number of collaborators along as part of their ongoing experimental series [Homework].

Feminist film journal Another Gaze seeks submissions for its next print edition, ‘The Old World May Be Dead’, slated for Autumn 2020. Pitches should reflect on time-based media and contemporary film culture while addressing the current condition and its possible futures.
